Richmond IT Consultancy Launches Third Annual Fundraising Effort to Support Computer Science Education
Solvaria Aims to Donate $25,000 to CodeVA Through Betting Big on Tech’s Third Annual Charity Casino Night

July 29, 2019

Richmond, Va., – Solvaria, Richmond’s only IT consultancy focused exclusively on data services and strategic IT leadership, is proud to announce fundraising has begun for Betting Big on Tech Third Annual Charity Casino Night, with proceeds going to CodeVa. CodeVa is a nonprofit organization that, through advocacy, teacher training, and direct student programs, partners with schools, parents, and communities to bring equitable computer science education to all of Virginia’s students.

Solvaria started Betting Big on Tech in 2017, with the goal of making a $20,000 donation to CodeVA. Through the support and sponsorships from more than two dozen Richmond-based companies, Solvaria has been able to exceed that goal every year and donate more than $42,000 to the organization in last two years. Using the donations from Betting Big on Tech, CodeVa has been able to make a tangible impact to schools across the state through various initiatives including, training a cohort of teachers for the K5 Computer Science Coach Program and by offering summer scholarships for 500 elementary students, nearly half of which were girls. This year, Solvaria hopes to make a minimum donation of $25,000 and continue to support the education of future IT leaders.

The final donation total will be announced at the Third Annual Betting Big on Tech Charity Casino night on November 14, 2019 at The Renaissance in Richmond’s historic arts district. This event not only gives members of Richmond’s technology community an opportunity to network with other executives and local government officials, but also brings awareness to CodeVa’s mission of equitable computer science for all students, in a fun and unique setting.
