Principal Consultant, Senior Database Administrator

As a Senior Database Administrator, you will work closely with our clients, providing expert-level database administration services and leveraging your specialized knowledge to enhance accuracy and drive results. Alongside our team, you will analyze, design, implement, and maintain database systems for a diverse range of companies. Your role will involve database performance tuning, capacity planning, security management, data accuracy assurance, and data recovery.

Consulting Services: Partner with clients to assess their database needs, providing expert advice and solutions tailored to their specific requirements.
Database Design and Implementation: Participate in the design and deployment of new database systems, ensuring scalability, reliability, and optimal performance.
Performance Optimization: Analyze and tune existing database systems to improve performance, responsiveness, and resource utilization.
Data Accuracy Assurance: Be a stickler for data accuracy, ensuring that all database information meets the highest standards of precision and quality.
Security Management: Implement and enforce database security policies and access controls to safeguard sensitive data.
Data Backup and Recovery: Develop and maintain backup and recovery strategies to protect critical data assets.
Capacity Planning: Monitor database growth trends and plan for future capacity requirements to ensure scalability.
Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, procedures, and best practices.
Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, system administrators, and project managers, to ensure seamless integration of database systems.
Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve database-related issues and incidents, providing timely support to clients.
Continuous Learning: Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in both database administration and your specialized field.

Proven experience as a Senior Database Administrator, with a minimum of 7 years in database administration.
Expertise in database management systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
Strong knowledge of database design, performance tuning, SQL query optimization, and data accuracy assurance.
Experience with database security protocols and best practices.
Proficiency in backup and recovery solutions.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex database issues.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively drive solutions with clients and team members.
Relevant certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate) are a plus.
