Solvaria’s Year in Review: 2024

As 2024 comes to an end, the Solvarians reflect with gratitude on the accomplishments made possible by our talented team, our exceptional clients, and our vibrant community. Join us in celebrating 2024, as we look back at the moments that made this year a wonderful one.  

2024 Best Places to Work  

Solvaria was proud to be named one of Virginia’s Best Places to work for the seventh consecutive year. This list is compiled annually by Virginia Business Magazine and the Best Companies Group to recognize the best places of employment in Virginia that contribute to the state’s economy, workforce and larger business community. The Solvarians celebrated this achievement at the 2024 Best Places to Work awards ceremony in Charlottesville. 

   

Welcoming a Senior Delivery Manager  

The Solvarians were proud to welcome Greg Robbins to the team as our new Senior Delivery Manager. His quick wit, exceptional project management skills and dedication to delivering quality solutions for clients has made a massive impact within our organization. Solvaria at the Flying Squirrels  

Take me out to the ballpark! This summer, we enjoyed the opportunity to celebrate our incredible clients and talented employees by spending a day at the baseball field. We cheered on the Flying Squirrels from the Bullpen Bar, starting the summer season with smiles on our faces. Check out the event recap here.  

SQL Saturday Richmond 

Staying plugged into the database community is important to the Solvarians. In 2024, we had the opportunity to sponsor SQL Saturday Richmond, which provides engaging sessions with top SQL server industry leaders. SQL Saturday is one of our favorite events of the year, as it provides an avenue to share expertise and learn from our community.  

SQL Senior DBA Joins the Solvarians  

Our technical team expanded this year as we welcomed Sunny Goswami to Solvaria. Sunny leverages over 12 years of experience as a SQL Server DBA across a variety of industries. He adeptly troubleshoots complex database issues, providing skilled configuration and maintenance. We also have to mention – he truly is sunny in every sense of the word.  

Corporate Fun Run  

In June, the Solvarians laced up their tennis shoes and got outside for the Coporate Fun Run. Our team enjoyed the warm summer evening and the opportunity to stretch our legs in scenic Byrd Park.

      

Third Annual Tech for Troops Golf Tournament  

Solvaria was proud to be a sponsor of the Third Annual Tech for Troops Memorial Golf Tournament. Tech for Troops is a non-profit organization aimed at supporting veterans in their transition back to the workforce. They provide refurbished technology to veterans at low or no cost, keeping technology out of landfills and offering veterans a second chance at success in the digital world. This event serves as a key fundraiser for the organization, and the Solvarians are proud to aid their mission.  

Community Initiatives

The Solvarians are proud to support the Richmond community in a variety of ways this year. Here are a few of the amazing organizations we partnered with in 2024.  

Caring Closets is a non-profit organization in Richmond that provides care packages, school supplies, and clothes to children and teens through the Bags4Kids program. The organization strives to “Dress with dignity at no cost” and has served over 11,000 clients since its inception.  

The Doorways provides a home away from home for families seeking medical care in Richmond. As the second largest healthcare hospitality home in the country, they have served the community since 1983.  

GiSTEM: Thinking Big with Big Data is a one-day event for over 300 high school students across Richmond and Petersburg that aims to provide hands on insights into the world of data.  

     

2024 Holiday Celebration 

We closed out 2024 with our annual holiday celebration at Harry’s Library. The festive evening wrapped up the year with good food and even better company. The Solvarians were grateful for a chance to reminisce and celebrate the hard work and dedication of our team. Cheers to 2024!
