Solvaria Named Among Virginia Business Best Places to Work for Seventh Year 

Solvaria Celebrates Ranking as 42^nd of Virginia Best Places to Work in the Small Employers Category 

February 2024 

Richmond, VA., – Solvaria is honored to be recognized as one of the 2024 Best Places to Work for the seventh consecutive year. As Richmond’s only IT consultancy firm, Solvaria provides database services and strategic IT leadership to businesses across the commonwealth and beyond. Virginia Business Magazine and Best Companies Group annually compile the Best Places to Work list, recognizing the best places of employment in Virginia, that have made exemplary contributions to the state’s economy, workforce, and businesses.  

To be considered for participation, companies had to fulfill the following eligibility requirements: 

• Be a for-profit, not-for-profit business or government entity; 
• Be a publicly or privately held business; 
• Have a facility in the state of Virginia; 
• Have at least 15 employees working in the state of Virginia; and 
• Be in business for a minimum of 1 year. 

More than 200 companies applied to be considered for inclusion in the 2024 Best Places to Work in Virgina cohort. A hundred companies were chosen, divided into three categories: small (15-99 U.S. employees); midsize (100-249); and large (250 or more). Virginia Business Magazine and Best Companies Group select companies based on a two-part process, surveying the companies and their employees. 

The first part of the process, worth approximately 25% of the evaluation, examines companies based on core values including leadership and planning; corporate culture and communication; role satisfaction; work environment; relationship with supervisor; training and benefits; pay; and overall engagement. The second part, worth approximately 75% of the evaluation, captures employee experience within the business. Virginia Business Magazine and Best Companies Group utilize a unique algorithm to determine the final rankings.
