Occupational Hazards Podcast Launches: Our very own CEO, Greg Samuels, launched Season One of “Occupational Hazards,” a podcast that examines the realities and occasional pitfalls of business ownership. In the inaugural season, Greg hosted authentic conversations with 10 talented business leaders about their journeys to success and the pitfalls they encountered along the way. 2023 Virginia Business’s Best Places to Work List: For the sixth consecutive year, we were elated to be recognized on the Virginia Business’s 2023 VBest Places to Work list. This award is a testament to our commitment to creating a positive and supportive work environment. It’s not just a recognition; it’s a reflection of our ongoing mission to be a company that employees want to work for, and companies want to work with.
Stumpy’s Hatchet House: This spring, in a lighthearted evening of team building, we ventured into the world of axe throwing at Stumpy’s Hatchet House. We shared laughter and camaraderie as we tried our best to hit the bullseye and were reminded of the value of collaboration within our team.
Atlanta SQL Saturday: In February, we attended SQL Saturday in Atlanta for the first time. Engaging with industry experts, sharing knowledge, and learning from peers was an enriching experience for members of our Sales, Marketing, and Technical teams. Events like these contribute significantly to our growth and keep us at the forefront of technological advancements.
Flying Squirrels Game: As summer approached, we took a break from our busy schedules to enjoy an evening out at the Flying Squirrels game. This outing not only strengthened our team bonds but also served as a reminder of the importance of work-life balance.
Hosting Richmond’s SQL Server Group: Throughout the year, we had the privilege of hosting the SQL Server Group on multiple occasions. These gatherings provided a platform for knowledge exchange, networking, and collaboration within the SQL Server community.
Tech for Troops Golf Tournament: We proudly sponsored and participated in the Tech for Troops Golf Tournament in September, contributing to a noble cause while also enjoying a day of friendly competition on the green. Tech for Troops is a non-profit organization that aims to support veterans by providing them with digital skills through training, education, and technology.
Marketing Team Growth: Welcoming new talent is always a highlight. In September we were thrilled to have Alexandra Welch join our team as a Marketing Specialist. Her fresh perspective has been a welcome addition to our Marketing team.
Appetite for E-Destruction: Our client and employee appreciation event, “Appetite for E-Destruction” was a wonderful chance to share a delicious lunch from Bikini Panini while giving back to a great cause. We collected donations of old electronics to donate to Tech for Troops, a non-profit organization that collects and recycles outdated electronics to reduce e-waste.
SQL Server DBA, John James Serna Vasquez Joins the Team: In October, we welcomed John James Serna Vasquez to our growing family. James is a talented SQL Server Database Administrator whose expertise spans many fields. James’s expertise has already been an invaluable contribution to our team.
2023 Holiday Celebration: Our team joined together to celebrate the year at our annual Holiday celebration. The festive evening was a wonderful conclusion to the year, full of good cheer, excellent food, and even better company.
